Endovascular Coiling of a Ruptured DACA Aneurysm — A Life-Saving Neuro intervention
A 50-year-old woman presented with a sudden thunderclap headache — a hallmark warning sign of subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). With a background of irregular hypertension treatment, MRI confirmed:
🔍 Diagnosis:
Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (Grade 2)
Ruptured saccular aneurysm in the left Anterior communicating artery A2 segment
🩺 Treatment:
An emergency endovascular coiling procedure was performed to occlude the ruptured aneurysm — preserving cerebral circulation while preventing rebleed.
✅ Outcome:

💬 Why this matters:
Endovascular techniques offer a powerful, minimally invasive treatment options in time-critical situations like aneurysmal SAH.
During Brain Awareness Month, let’s amplify the message of:
🧠 Early recognition of red-flag neurological symptoms
🧠 Rapid imaging and diagnosis
🧠 Access to expert endovascular care
